Plans and billing
Compare plan limits, monitor ingestion units, and manage a Polar subscription.
Each organization has one plan. The plan sets project, seat, retention, and monthly ingestion-unit limits.
Plans
| Plan | Price | Projects | Seats | Retention | Ingestion units per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | 1 | 2 | 7 days | 10,000 |
| Pro | $25 per month | 5 | 5 | 30 days | 250,000 |
| Team | $100 per month | Unlimited | Unlimited | 90 days | 1,000,000 |
For the latest purchase terms, read telemetry.dev/pricing.
Ingestion units
One ingestion unit is one span, one log record, or one metric data point.
The limit belongs to the organization, not to one project. Usage resets at the first day of each UTC month.
Hard quota behavior
The Free plan has a 1.2 hard-quota factor. Its 10,000-unit plan limit becomes a hard stop at 12,000 units.
After the hard stop, the ingest service rejects more data with 429 quota_exceeded. The response has a Retry-After value for the next UTC month boundary.
At this time, paid plans record usage but do not reject ingestion at the listed monthly limit.
Monitor usage
Open Organization settings → Usage to read:
- Ingestion units used and the plan limit
- Spans in the current month
- Projects used and the plan limit
- Seats used and the plan limit
- The next reset time
The seat count includes members and active pending invitations.
Open Project settings → Usage for one project’s ingestion units and span count. This tab also shows retained traces, spans, logs, and metric points. The monthly plan limit still applies across the full organization.
Change a plan
An organization owner or admin can change the plan.
Open billing
Open Organization settings → Billing.
Select a plan
Select the Pro or Team plan.
Complete checkout
Complete the Polar checkout.
Return to telemetry.dev
After checkout, telemetry.dev refreshes the organization plan.
Manage a subscription
Select Manage billing to open the Polar customer portal. The admin whose Polar customer owns the subscription gets this action.
A different admin sees that another organization admin manages billing. That admin cannot open the subscription portal for the purchaser.
